The Avi-on Home app offers users of GE-branded Bluetooth devices the ability to control in-wall and plug-in switches directly from their smartphones. It's important to note that Avi-on no longer maintains a contractual relationship with Jasco Products, the manufacturer of these devices, and they are no longer available for sale. Regardless, Avi-on continues to extend support for existing users as a courtesy.
This system is designed with security in mind, requiring users to log in and enable location services. The login process ensures exclusivity in controlling your lighting, while the location service facilitates the use of sunrise and sunset scheduling features. Once devices are programmed, they can operate independently without the need for an Internet connection or smartphone proximity.
To manage GE-branded devices via Wi-Fi, users must acquire an Avi-on Remote Access Bridge (RAB). Each device contains a Bluetooth chip where all schedules and settings are securely stored. The Avi-on system supports multiple users through a single account, with all data backed up in the Avi-on cloud for instant recovery. For those seeking continuous Wi-Fi access, clock synchronization, and compatibility with Alexa, the installation of an Avi-on Remote Access Bridge is recommended.
To initiate use of the Avi-on system:
- Connect any compatible Avi-on device by wiring or plugging it in (options include plug-in switches or dimmers, in-wall switches or dimmers, or outdoor switches).
- Utilize a current smartphone or tablet with an updated operating system that has Bluetooth capabilities and strong Wi-Fi access.
- Download the most recent version of the Avi-on Home App, and register your account along with setting a password. Be sure to check your spam folder for any verification or password emails.
